If you've already added the repository, just run:

sudo apt install architecta
First-time setup (add repository)
curl -fsSL -o /tmp/colaapps-archive-keyring.gpg \
     https://colaapps.com/repo/colaapps-archive-keyring.gpg &&
sudo install -D -m 0644 /tmp/colaapps-archive-keyring.gpg \
     /etc/apt/keyrings/colaapps-archive-keyring.gpg

sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/colaapps.list > /dev/null <<'EOF'
deb [signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/colaapps-archive-keyring.gpg] https://colaapps.com/repo stable main
EOF

sudo apt update
sudo apt install architecta

The first two commands install the ColaApps signing key, so apt verifies every index it downloads. Needs curl. Debian and Ubuntu.

Added ColaApps before, with [trusted=yes]? That turns signature checking off — run the block above again, it overwrites the old line.

About

Architecta 1.39.1

A native, multi-language IDE with coding agents built in. Python/Django and React/Vite are first-class; Rust and PHP are supported. Built on Tauri 2 with a Rust core: no bundled browser, a small footprint and a fast start.

Requirements

  • Windows: Windows 10 x64 or later, with the WebView2 runtime (part of Windows 11; installed automatically on Windows 10).
  • Linux: a Debian or Ubuntu based x64 distribution.
  • Agents (optional): Claude through the Claude Code CLI or an Anthropic API key; Microsoft Copilot; Discera.

Install

  • Windows: run Architecta_1.39.1_x64-setup.exe. It installs per user and needs no administrator rights.
  • Linux: sudo apt install ./Architecta_1.39.1_amd64.deb, then start architecta.

Architecta updates itself: when a new version is published, it offers the update and shows what changed. A 30-day trial starts with an account; a yearly license is available at architecta.top.

Features

Editor and tools

  • Editor: CodeMirror 6 with syntax highlighting for Python, TypeScript/TSX, JavaScript/JSX, Rust, PHP, HTML, CSS, JSON, Markdown, TOML, YAML, SQL and shell.
  • Language intelligence: completions, hover, diagnostics and go to definition, through the standard language servers.
  • Debugger: breakpoints, call stack and variables for Python, JavaScript, Rust and PHP.
  • Terminal: integrated, with multiple tabs.
  • Search: go to file, search the workspace, and find and replace in a file.
  • Source control: Git status, stage and unstage, diffs and commits.
  • Workbench: split editors, a problems panel, breadcrumbs, several windows with one project each, and your session restored on restart.

Agent Mode

  • Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Discera, each on its own or together as Omnia, which gives each part of a question to the participant best suited to it and keeps the paid turns down.
  • You stay in control: every edit and command an agent proposes is shown for review first, unless you choose to approve it automatically.
  • Several conversations at once, in a bar ordered by what needs you, with cost shown per answer and per conversation.
  • A file viewer beside the conversation, so you can read the code the agent is working on without leaving Agent Mode.
  • A mobile companion: pair your phone to follow conversations, start new ones and approve changes while you are away from the desk.

What's new

1.39.1: sign in to Claude without leaving Architecta

  • When Claude Code's sign-in lapses, Architecta signs it in for you: your browser opens on Claude's sign-in page, and once you have signed in the same turn carries on and answers your message.
  • "Please run /login" no longer appears as Claude's answer.
  • If the browser does not open, the step shows the link. If Claude's page shows a code, send it as your next message and Architecta finishes signing in.

1.39.0: a file viewer in Agent Mode

  • A file clicked in Files, picked with Go to File or found by workspace search now opens read-only beside the conversation. You stay in Agent Mode, and the editor's tabs and splits are left as they were.
  • The agent keeps working while you read. The viewer's header names the step it is on, and shows Needs you: review when it is waiting for your approval.
  • Find, next and previous match, and go to line all work. Open in editor takes you to the same file and line.
  • Unsaved edits, changes on disk, deleted files, large files and binary files are each shown for what they are.

1.38.2: the conversation bar works left to right

  • Conversations are ordered by what they need: needs you, waiting on you, working, new, resting, parked. Every conversation is in reach from the bar's list button.
  • Park sets a conversation aside without closing it.
  • Idle conversations give their memory back and pick up the same session when you return.
  • Save as… for files Copilot produces opens the system save dialog.

1.38.1: Claude can run a team of agents

  • Claude can split work into sub-agents that run side by side. Each one has only the tools the conversation has, and its changes are reviewed like any other. You can follow each sub-agent's steps in the timeline.

1.38.0: current models, uninterrupted typing, files that are sent

  • Claude's model list comes from the installed Claude Code, which is kept up to date automatically, so new models appear without an Architecta update.
  • Typing in one conversation is no longer interrupted by another that is working.
  • A file you mention with @ is sent in full to Copilot and Discera, and chips under the message show exactly what will be sent.

1.37.0: one release line

  • Copilot receives a project's working core when you ask about it by name.
  • Conversation summaries are checked before they are kept.
  • A Claude session that stops is continued instead of restarted.
  • The phone reconnects to the desk by itself after the connection breaks.

1.36.0: several windows and a new mobile companion

  • Run several windows, each on its own project.
  • The mobile companion is redesigned around conversations: start one, read answers with full formatting, and approve edits and commands from the phone.
  • Closing a conversation puts it in a Closed list instead of deleting it.
  • A session-size setting keeps long Claude conversations from getting more expensive with every turn. The cost view explains each turn's cost.
  • Copilot patches keep their indentation and are applied where they were written.

1.33.0: long conversations cost less

  • Workspace context is sent to Claude once per session rather than every turn: 84% less sent across twelve turns in our measurement.
  • In Omnia, questions another participant handles better go to that participant at no cost.
  • The model fits the size of each turn, within the limit you set.
  • Optional: tools from an MCP server, and Discera over the standard OpenAI-compatible protocol.
